Lake Update #1

We are enjoying our week at the lake. For those of you that don't know the background, Brett's family has a lake house in NJ that has been in the family for several generations. It's lots of fun and VERY relaxing.

We arrived on Saturday. Brett's Uncle Rich picked us up from the airport.
We are starting to transition Owen to a Sippy Cup. Here is his first attempt. He found it more funny than a way to drink...

Much better with the bottle still.

Robin and Jud gave Owen a bug container with bugs in it. He thought it was hysterical.

Sunday was off to the lake itself for some water fun. Owen is like a little fishy. He LOVES being in the water. He's so funny to watch in this floaty we got him. He pushes himself around in the shallow end and absolutely has a ball.

Nonna Pat came back from Rhode Island and was spending some quality time feeding Owen on Monday morning.
More enjoyment in the lake...

Monday night Catherine hosted a party so we could all get together. It was wonderful.

Well, we knew it would happen sooner or later;)
For some reason I can't move the videos up so they are randomly here. The first one is Owen floating around. Note how he scoots himself along:) The second is him enjoying his new sippy cup and just talking about it.

Day Care Pics

For Mother's Day the ladies at day care made a wonderful card with Owen. It was so touching it made me cry 3 times. These are some of the pictures they took for it and that we received electronically. They are so cute I wanted to share them with you.

We are vacationing this week at the lake in New Jersey so we'll be posting with new, fun pics. and videos:)

Wedding Bells

This weekend we headed to Sylvania, OH for my friend Kristy's wedding. We have been friends since 3rd grade. In the picture is Jenny, Amy, Kristy and myself. I've been friends with Jenny since 4th grade and Amy since 9th grade. Needless to say, these are some of my dearest friends and it's always a wonderful time when I get to be with them. Amy is expecting her second baby on September 30th and Kristy is expecting her 1st on October 7th. I can't wait!!! Jen, now it's your turn;)

Owen as always did wonderful, but he's been battling a cold and today he started running a fever:( Ah, the joys of parenthood... I can tell he's not feeling well because he wouldn't usually lay on me long enough to fall asleep. But, it's so sweet when it happens. Look how cute.

Trip to Houston

This past weekend we went to Houston to visit all of our old friends. It was very fun and very hot!

We arrived Thursday and went to hang out with Chris and her daughter's Keira and Isabel. We went to Texadelphia which was yummy and it was so great to catch up in person.
On Friday we had breakfast with my old client and our friend Diane. We went to a yummy restaurant called Brasil for breakfast. Diane brought lots of goodies for Owen.
Next it was off to my old work, FKM. We saw lots of people which was great. I didn't get pics. with most of them but here is one with my old boss Mark. Not sure what they were looking at...
Dinner that night was at Chuy's. YUMMY!!!! The jalepeno cream sauce is TO DIE FOR. We crave it so much and Chuy's is a must every time we are in town. We were joined by Michelle, Doug and Cindy. It was a great time.
Thanks to Cindy who let us stay at her house Thursday and Friday. She threw out her back earlier in the week and was such a trooper letting us come visit.
Saturday we headed off to the Babb's. They are our friends with triplets about to turn 3!

We enjoyed some backyard fun in the pool. Owen LOVED it. The kids splashed him and he didn't care at all. I think we are going to have to get a small pool for our yard.

That night we feasted on ribs, sweet potatoes and asparagus. Thanks for a great dinner Jen and David! Here are all the boys chowing down.
Miss Caroline ate all her dinner!Sadly Sunday came way to fast and it was time to go. We tried to get a picture with all the kids. This was the best we got:) David had to be part of the picture because Garrett was not having it without him. Kids...
Thanks to everyone we got to see. We had a wonderful time, miss you lots, and will be back soon.

Lazy Day

This weekend was pretty lazy which was great! We got lots of stuff done around the house.

Owen and I are battling colds (again) so we needed something low-key. I know all you out there with kids can sympathize with me. I would love just one month to go by without some sort of illness. Oh well, if the worst that happens to this family is some colds and flu bugs, we will consider ourselves lucky.

Even the cats were enjoying the nice weather and being lazy.
We were going to go to the zoo, but because of our colds we settled for the park. As you can see, Owen was just as happy!

Have a great week! We will be in Houston this coming weekend and can't wait to see everyone.
