Memorial Day Wedding Extravaganza

First of all, thanks to all that have served and currently serve in the Armed Forces to protect our country and freedom.

Also, Happy Anniversary to the best husband in the world!!! Today is our Anniversary (7 years). It has gone by so fast and I can't imagine going through life with anyone else.
Beautiful Anniversary Flowers

This past Thursday through Sunday we headed to Sarasota, FL to celebrate our good friend Robin's wedding to her sweet husband Rob. Brett and Robin have grown up their whole lives together so this was a very special occassion.
Can you tell Brett is excited to be getting away from the kids for a few days?

Thursday night was the rehearsal dinner at a beautiful waterfront restaurant.

 Good friends!

Friday was wedding day but since the wedding wasn't until 5, I had most of the day to just lounge around. Brett was in the wedding so he didn't get quite so much relaxation time at the pool:) I forgot how nice it was to just sit at a pool and read a book when someone isn't whining, asking questions or attempting to drown themselves...
Fun lizard at the pool

The wedding was outside at beautiful estate. It was a completely outdoor wedding which is a first for me and the weather was perfect.

The ceremony was gorgeous looking out over the water.

The wedding party looked so elegant in their navy dresses and taupe suits.

Time for the big moment. The groom waiting with the officiant for Robin's arrival.
Robin looked absolutely beautiful and it was so nice to see her walk down with her father.
The ceremony was lovely as well.

The cocktail hour was just over to the side in a covered gazebo. There were steel drums playing and some lovely horde oeuvres. One of which was Cheeze-its!!! This is a nod to the Estling Lake crew. I think Cheeze-its maybe the official snack of the lake.

There was a beautiful backdrop for family shots.

The reception was just as lovely. Eating and dancing under the stars was a first for me but it was so wonderful and elegant.

Congratulations Robin and Rob! It was a beautiful night and I hope it was all you wanted.

On Saturday we had a free day after brunch so Brett, myself and his mom went beach hopping. First we tried out Turtle Beach at the southern tip of Siesta Key.
Then we headed up north to Siesta Key Beach. Voted #1 Beach in the US by Dr. Beach (whoever that is.) The sand was like walking on soft kitty fur. It was SOOOO soft. And you could walk and walk and walk out in the ocean. Not sure what if it's really the best beach, but I agree it was really pretty.

To finish off Saturday and the wedding weekend a group of us took a sunset cruise. So much fun!

Meanwhile back at the ranch, the kids were having a blast with my Dad and Stepmom who so graciously offered to come up from Florida to watch the kids.

They got here in time to catch swim lessons.

And it looks like they had fun in the pool at home too.
