Gobble Gobble Turkey Talk

This was Maddi's favorite school song over Thanksgiving:) We heard it a zillion times at least and it turned into quite the ear worm.

Anyway, this was our very first Thanksgiving in our new home. I've never card much for this holiday, but it definitely took on a new meaning in a home that we own and we certainly have so much to be thankful for this year.

Our Moms came to town which made it extra special. The meal was so yummy, especially the fried bird by Brett. Yum!!!!

No visit is complete without some shopping!  We did lots of it but perhaps the most fun was taking Maddi shopping at the jewelry store. Such a girly girl:)

Thank you God for all the blessings you bestowed upon us this year.

Happy birthday to Owen!!!

Well, Owen turned 5 this past Sunday. It is so hard to believe that 5 years has passed since this bright little boy entered our lives. Who could imagine how much he would change our lives for the better. He is kind, smart funny and just the greatest little boy we could every ask for (even when he's naughty.) We love him so much.

It was a great weekend. On Saturday we had Owen's birthday party. It was a small family/friends event but was still really nice. It was lego themed as this is Owen's absolute FAVORITE thing in the whole world right now.

The invites turned out so cute!!!!

Life has been kind of crazy so the party was planned and executed in one day but it still turned out great.
Turns out there is a some sort of worldwide helium shortage (who knew?) so we had to use decorations other than balloons but with some streamers and dangly things all was saved.
The favors turned out really cute too. All of the kids got lego stickers and lego erasers. For the older kids, they got lego sets and for the little girls we found cute princess figures.

Lego juice boxes also turned out really cute.

And we made cute little lego cheese sandwiches.

And last but not least we made these cute lego cakes. It was my first foray into fondant on a non-round cake so the corners were a little hard to do with the time allotted, but overall they turned out really cute and Owen loved them.
We even dyed the inside frosting and cake to match the actual lego color.

The kids had lots of fun playing with our guests.

Maddi loved playing with baby Gia. It was a like a real life baby doll!!!!

Cake time!!!

Owen was blessed with some really nice presents:)

Lego Man - Made this tshirt and it turned out really great. Owen loved it:)

Sunday was Owen's actual birthday so the party continued!!
Birthday Breakfast

And Rounds 2, 3 and 4 of presents!

And birthday dinner cake!

It was extra special having my Dad and Stepmom in to celebrate with us and the kids loved spending time with them.

What a fabulous weekend. Happy birthday to my baby boy!!!!
