Happy Halloween!

A little bit about my school
We are so lucky because Owen LOVES going to daycare. And this month Owen got to be Baby of the Month.
His teachers there are absolutely the best and I can't imagine being happier with any other place.

Baby Ava
One of my oldest and dearest friends, Kristy (Nowakowski) Rivero moved to Chicago with her 4 week old baby and husband Alex.
Here is little Ava sleeping away. So precious and cute! Owen didn't pay much attention to her. He was more interested in playing with the paper from the moving boxes.

Bye-Bye
Owen waved bye-bye for the first time today. It's one of those new parent things that are very exciting! You'll probably be seeing more of these videos in the near future so bear with us:)

Weeeeeee
One of Owen's favorite toys is his Daddy:) Now that he's big enough he loves to ride on Brett's shoulders. (He also loves Rihanna, playing in the background. But who doesn't love her?)
On another note, Owen was bit for the first time today by one of his classmates. It wasn't malicious but the little boy did break skin. Nothing bad though. The second incident report in as many days this week. Guess he's turning into a true boy!

A little taste of fall
This weekend we went to visit our friends, the Galats, in Wisconsin. They live just outside of Milwaukee. We had so much fun!!!! They have a little boy, Paul, who is 2 1/2 and Owen loved playing with him.
Saturday was beautiful so we took a trip to a farm and went on a hayride to the pumpkin patch where we picked out our own pumpkins. We all really enjoyed it.
For those of you reading this blog that come from a temperate climate where fall never really visits (a.k.a. Texas), this is a time-honored tradition here in the north. You go apple/pumpkin picking, take hayrides, drink apple cider, eat apple pie, etc... It's one of the last enjoyments before the LONG winter sets in.
Owen seemed to really enjoy his first trip. He loved the big tractors and thought crawling around in the dirt was great. Such a boy already.
Today we just hung out and played with the boys inside. It was a raw, cold, rainy day and we all felt like being lazy so it was perfect. Owen really enjoyed having another boy around to play with.
All of a sudden Owen has taken to carrying things around in his mouth with his teeth. Guess it's all part of learning to use them...

When we got home today Owen was still having fun:) He's learned to crawl up all the stairs and now he enjoys coming down on his own from the first step. All of this before he can even walk of course. We are in so much trouble! He also really enjoys shredding paper. They did this at daycare the other day and they told us he had the most fun of anyone. Not sure if it's something to be proud of or not???
And, this picture is from the other day. Owen hates wearing clothes. To train him for winter we are slowly getting him used to socks and things on his head. This photo is proof that it is starting to work and hopefully he won't be the little boy this winter with bare feet. I'm pretty sure CPS would come after us.
