Brett and I went to London for the first time. He had a business trip and I went along for the ride. A big THANKS to my Dad and Barbara for watching the kiddos so we could get away and enjoy ourselves.
We arrived Tuesday AM and really just got settled in and took a much-needed nap due to no sleeping on the plane:(
That night we went to the London Eye and walked around the river Thames.
On Wednesday Brett had his conference. It was rainy so I slept in and then spent the day at Harrod's! Yay, shopping:) After shopping I came back to the hotel, took a nap and then had a nice, quiet dinner by myself near the hotel while Brett attended a conference dinner. It was a really nice, relaxing day.
On Thursday, I met my old boss from Houston that now lives there. He took me to the market and it was great going off the beaten path for the day. That night, Brett and I went to see Mousetrap - an Agatha Christy play that has been running for 60+ years. It was really fun.
Friday was full force sight seeing. We tried to go to Westminster Abbey but it was closed for a special event so instead we went to Big Ben/Parliament, a Bus Tour, walked around the river and the changing of the guards. That night we met up with friends from the lake that live over there and had a wonderful dinner and night out which included going up to the top of the Shard. Really neat.
Saturday was another packed day. Saw the Abbey and then spent the rest of the day at the Tower of London. Pretty incredible stuff.
Sunday it was time to head home but we will definitely be back!!!!
