First Craft (at home anyway)
Owen and I took advantage of mommy having no job to do our first craft project today. It's a secret since it's something for Mother's Day, but let's just hope that Crayola isn't lying when they say the paint is non-toxic. I'm pretty sure he ingested some:)

And, the best thing that could happen today, did. I found another job. All is good and we are very blessed.

Road Trip
This past weekend we went on a road trip to Toledo for cousin Caden's first birthday.

Saturday morning we had breakfast with Amy and Cooper. Amy is pregnant with their second child, due September 30th. She looked great!
Time for the festivities. Caden already had cake on his real birthday last Thursday, so here was a cupcake version of the celebration. He seemed to really like having everyone sing happy birthday to him.
Too bad we didn't get a video of him shoving the rest of the cupcake in his mouth:)
Caden also seemed to like opening presents. Although not quite as much as big brother Bennett.
They had an activity center there that Owen just couldn't get enough of. We'll have to get one of these. He could only stand for a little bit but really enjoyed it. These pictures kill me. He looks less like a baby every day...

All the cousins went on a walk together. Here they are (Caden, Owen, Bennett) in Caden's new wagon together. Check out Bennett's cool shades that we got him. Owen and Caden have a pair too!
Owen wasn't sure what to make of his older cousins.
They really liked him though.
Ah, the things kids pick up from adults.
This was the first walk Owen went on where he rode in just the stroller and not the stroller/car seat combo. He seemed to really like it because he could see so much more. Such a big boy!

We of course hung out with the family while we were there. Here Owen is with my mom.
And here he is with Brett's dad. Two crazy haired guys! Brett's mom was off traveling in Ireland.
Last Wednesday I was laid off. But, it's okay. When one door closes another one opens. I've been on 2 promising interviews already so say a prayer something comes through quickly!

Rasberries for Everyone
Hi everyone! Sorry our postings have been delayed. It's been a bit of a nuthouse in the Geissler household. Both Brett and Owen were battling the latest stomach virus that I hear is going around everywhere. Not good. I spent my weekend doing laundry and spraying Lysol on every surface I could find.
Anyway, here are some things for you to enjoy. Owen LOVES to be naked. I guess he can move around better. Or, he's just a guy...
Owen is finally loving his cereal. He gets very excited when eating it. He's also turning into quite a ham in front of the camera.

Owen is also getting more vocal. Guess he takes after me;) His newest thing is some high-pitched screech and he's trying desperately to blow rasberries. A developmental milestone they say. I'm amazed at certain things that apparently all kids do. Such as this, the screeching thing, grabbing their feet, etc. How do they all know to do it???? Enjoy!

Spring? Is that you?
Yesterday Spring came to Chicago, at least for the day anyway. We can't wait for it to come for good!!!
So, we took advantage of it and played outside with Owen. For those keeping track, it was the warmest day of his life! :)
He seemed to really enjoy it. Especially when the warm breeze blew. As you can see, he is getting very close to sitting up on his own.
This is the new horsey we got him in the Pittburgh airport for being such a good boy all weekend. Yes, we are suckers.
A short little video for your enjoyment.

New Duds
Owen wore his overalls today for the first time. He looked so cute I just had to share.

Oh, and I forgot to mention on the post from this weekend. Owen rolled over from front to back for the first time this past Friday. It doesn't happen quickly (we've only seen it once) so don't expect a video of it any time soon. But we promise we'll share when we can capture it.

Trip to Pittsburgh
We went to Pittsburgh this weekend to witness my Aunt Lulu and her fiance get married (finally!) It was a beautiful ceremony.

Owen and Aunt Sissy.
Owen and Cousin Cindy.
They had an old swing that all the kids have used at one point or another. Owen wasn't sure what to make of it.
Now he's really not sure if he wants to be in it.
And now he realizes he WANTS OUT! I know it's not right to take amusement in your child's angst...but sometimes you just can't help it;)
That night we went over to the Strenkowski's for dinner. My Uncle John, Aunt Liz, Cousin Anthony and his wife Jen.
Anth, Jen and Owen.

Aunt lulu, you were beautiful! Ed, you looked good too, but you know it's all about the bride;)
Here is Ed anxiously awaiting his bride-to-be.
Cousin Glenn giving away my Aunt. Very moving...
Exchanging vows.
Husband and Wife:) May they live happily ever after.
My mom, Aunt Lulu, Ed and Uncle John.

On Saturday we went to visit my Great Uncle Joe and Great Aunt Sissy. It was great to be able to show Owen to them. They are like grandparents to me. Owen is starting to get a little stranger anxiety, but by the end of the visit he couldn't get enough of them!
Owen and Uncle Joe.
They have two dogs, Dante and Harley. Owen LOVED them. I'm not sure if all babies just like animals, but Owen can't get enough of them. He just laughs whenever they come near. The dogs were so good and gentle with him.
Here is a video of Owen enjoying the dogs. Ignore my commentary. I was waiting for Brett to take a picture. I didn't realize he was taking a video...
