Trip to Philadelphia

This past weekend we went to Philadelphia for my cousin Jill's wedding. It was great!

My cousin Richie after a few drinks...nice.
On Saturday my Aunt and Uncle had a pig roast at their house. It was lots of fun:)
Maddi meeting my Uncle Rich (my Godfather)
They had a blow-up pool which Owen spent 2 hours in. We had to forcefully extract him as his lips were completely blue!Inside Owen discovered a piano. It was the first time he's seen one and he really enjoyed playing it.

Some pictures of the kiddos.
The kids did really well sleeping in the hotel. It was good to have them in close proximity as now I feel better about having them share a room since the two of them didn't seem to disturb each other while sleeping too much.
On Sunday we visited my Aunt and Uncle before heading to the airport to come home. The weekend went way to fast but we had a great time.

Let the Good Times Roll

Last weekend was a really fun (and big) weekend at the Geissler household.

Owen peed on the potty for the first time at hour house (he's done it at daycare) twice!!! He even wanted to wear his big boy underpants Nonni Pat bought him.

Holding his reward for going on the potty
On Sunday Owen and I headed out for some one-on-one time to the Farmer's Market about a mile down the street. We decided to take the bus, Owen's first trip on the CTA! He had lots of fun and made everyone on the bus smile with his enthusiasm.
The Farmer's Market was at Wicker Park so of course we had to check out the playground. All Owen wanted to do was slide. At least he knows what he wants...

Later that afternoon we decided to make a volcano. Owen has been really into volcanoes since one appeared in an episode of Dinosaur Train. We used some instructions we found online.

We first had to make the dough, which I think was just as much fun as watching the actual volcano!Fun getting messy (sorry about the pic orientation, wish I knew how to fix it when this happens...)

The beautiful end product

Good things come to those who wait. And wait.

There are a few other miscellaneous things to post. Here is a picture of a bird that decided to spend the better part of a day in my tomato plant. Owen showing off his squid made at school.
Maddi enjoying the floor mat we recently got out for her.
Little Bean relaxingSome eats from Daddy
The previous weekend Papo and Nonna Barbara came to visit. Will post more once I get their pics (mine were not real good) but here is Papo and Maddi.
Off to Philadelphia this weekend. My cousin Jill is getting married, should be fun! This will be the first time we are traveling with both kiddos and the first time staying with either of them in a hotel (not sure how we've managed to avoid one to this point.) Wish us luck!!!!

Tub Time Together

Owen and Maddi took their first bath together yesterday. It was really sweet. Owen had fun playing around while we bathed Maddi before it was his turn.

After bath time, we dressed the kids in their pjs and let them hang out for a little while. Trying to establish a routine earlier with baby #2, although she's trying her darnedest to not allow it to happen...

Owen showing off his new TRex head from the museum last weekend. He cracks me up.

This past Monday Paul, Krista and their kids Paul IV and Lyla stopped by on their way back to Milwaukee. We went to high school with Paul and Krista. It was great to see them, meet Lyla and introduce them to Madeline. IV and Owen had lots of fun playing together.

Today Maddi and I were hanging out so I decided to take a cute shot of her in her Buzzy Bee shirt Papo and Nonna Barbara brought back from New Zealand. Poor thing is battling a really bad case of baby acne:(

Last week she cooed for the first time and yesterday she began smiling when it wasn't related to gas or poop. Yeah!!!
