OU Girls Weekend!

This past weekend I went to Ohio to hang out with my some of my best girlfriends from college. I haven't seen them in a few years, so it was so great to get together. And I haven't been back to my college in 10 years so it was really interesting to see how much it changed!

We could not have lucked out more with the weather. The nights were cool and the days were super sunny and about 80 degrees. It was bliss!!!!!! The leaves were changing which made it extra beautiful.

My friend Char found an awesome cabin in Hocking Hills, about 30 minutes outside of Athens. It was beautiful.

Friday night we just hung out waiting for everyone to arrive and then had a family style dinner. After dinner, we enjoyed Kim's old photo albums. Yikes, how much we have all changed:)

On Saturday we took our time getting up and getting ready. Most of us have children so this was quite a treat:) Before heading to Athens we were able to get some cute group shots on the deck.

Then, we headed in to Athens to visit our old Alma Mater, Ohio University. For those of you who have never been there, it is such a beautiful college campus nestled in the hills of Southeast Ohio. The university is the town and I enjoyed every minute of the 4 years I spent there.

Saturday night we went back to the cabin, watched Bridesmaids and hung out.

Sunday morning we got up, had breakfast and said our goodbyes. It was such a great time, I really hope we do it again. My weekend was complete with a beautiful sunset on the flight back to Chicago.

Thanks girls for such a fabulous weekend. It was so good for the soul.

Happy Birthday Brett!

Happy birthday to our favorite man of the House, my best friend and the best Dad any kid could have!!!!!

Fun Fall Weekend

This past weekend we went apple picking which is one of our favorite fall activities. We went to County Line Orchard in Indiana and highly recommend it. There were lots of apples, activities for the kids, it's reasonably priced and only an hour from the city. And the trip was extra special because we went with our good friends Andy, Jill and their little girl Lily.

Maddi LOVED the apples. She ate about 4 of them while we were picking.

Owen had lots of picking, and of course wouldn't eat an apple if you bribed him...

The kids had lots of fun being together

Our trip included a visit to the pumpkin patch

What a face...

Fun with the Kahn's

And of course we went for a hayride to get us out to the orchard. Although no hayrides actually seem to use hay anymore...

Guess Owen had a lot of fun:)

All of this fall weather got me in a cooking/baking mood so on Sunday we made banana bread for snack. For dinner we had meatloaf and sweet potatoes. And for dessert, I made an apple crisp for the first time. It was so easy and tasted really yummy!

All in all a great fall weekend!!!!!
