Texas Bluebonnets

This past weekend we drove out to the Hill Country to see the bluebonnets. For those of you not from around here, around April the bluebonnets bloom and it's a gorgeous site to see. There are tons of places to just go out and take photos along the road. There are many that are packed with tourists but if you just drive around you can find some spots that nobody has trampled.

Check out the creepy motorcyclist by us on the way up...freaky.

We literally just stopped on the side of the highway for these shots but it was absolutely perfect.

We also stopped at a nearby Lavender farm. Such beautiful property and it smelled wonderful of course with all of the Lavender. While there we cut fresh lavender and also had a picnic lunch. Owen was really excited by the pond and the stick he found:)

Hoping we get to make this a tradition. At least for as long as the kids will tolerate it!

Hoppy Easter

The kids celebrated Easter at school by having a Easter Bonnet Parade. It was such a cute idea and they were so proud to show off their hats that they made!

I give thanks to God for all that we have been blessed with.

SXSW

This past week I was chosen to attend SXSW, an interactive conference for the industry covering all things digital/social media. It was in Austin so lucky for me it was just a few hour drive away.

It was nice being immersed in learning for a few days, even if the lines were pretty bad.

Also, my clients scored all kinds of VIP passes to parties, the IFC Comedy House and other band venues. This conference happens right before the big music festival and movie festival there so there were plenty of acts and famous people hanging around the city.

One of the nights we went to the Comedy House to see Sara Silverman and Reggie Watts. Both were okay. Interesting to be with clients around Sara's humor because it's not exactly wholesome...

Me and the Yam at the trade show

But for sure the highlight for me was the Twitter session on Deadliest Catch. Brett and I love this show and have watched every season (I think they are on 8 or 9.) You really get to know the Captains and their life stories so I made sure I was front and center for the session and I even scored a picture with them where I got to sit on Sig's lap!

It was so amazing!!!!

Had a great time in Austin. Was sad that I missed our friend Mallory visiting but at least Brett had some help while I was gone.
