Lego Kids Fest

Owen is a HUGE lego fan. So when we saw the Lego Kids Fest was coming to Houston we knew we had to go! Our friend Jen and her little boy went with us because he is also a huge lego fan.

Right when you walked in there was a huge exhibit area that had a bunch of lego statues. Pretty cool to see how someone crafted and created all of them out of legos.

Then there were all kinds of different stations based on the different lego sets available as well as some demonstration areas. Interesting to see where Lego is placing their investments currently based on the size allocated to each set.

One of the challenges was for groups of kids to make a bridge structure and then see how much weight it could hold. Our group was full of really young kids and it was a bit disorganized at the beginning but they actually pulled it all together themselves and came in second! Even beating out some groups with older kids.

Clearly they are making a large investment in Chima as it was their biggest area and had a special free giveaway!

Some other areas with bugs, heroes, etc.

The Star Wars one was a big hit, as expected.

Hogwarts Castle creation.

They create a map of the US with line tape and then people can build structures to fill it up relevant to the areas on the map. It was pretty neat!

We all had fun building cars and racing them against each other.

The event was really well done and tons of fun. Clearly Owen and Maddi enjoyed themselves:)
