Pooping Penguin

Alexis' Uncle Ed gave us this crazy pooping penguin. Enjoy:)

Owen's First Day at "School"

Today was Owen's first day at daycare. Here he is playing before the big day.

"Do I get to bring my hands with me?"
All prepped out and dressed to impress:)
He of course did fine. They said he was so good (already I like that he's impressing the teachers!) and when I went to pick him up he was smiling at one of the girls that crawled over to him. Really cute. Mommy did okay too, but I did cry when I left and when I got to work. It's like giving your heart away and hoping someone doesn't crush it. He'll be just fine...

My Daddy is Crazy

Daddy was home for 2 weeks playing Mr. Mom and mountain man (he didn't shave for 2 weeks, yuck.)

But, today he decided it was time to shave for work so he had some fun.
What a dork...
Lovely. He could totally be on "To Catch a Predator" or Super Troopers!

Go Dukies!!!!!

Duke played Virginia Tech and Owen was ready for the big game with his coach K bobble-head doll and his cool Duke outfit Cousin Patti got him.

Go Dukies!!!!

Hmmm...we may need a new game plan.
Owen also discovered he has hands this week. It's pretty funny to watch. He just stares at them. It's amazing to watch his little mind work and the simple things he finds joy in.
Wow, these are cool.
*Unfortunately his hands come with fingernails, and as you can see, he hacked his head to pieces.

More Firsts

Last week was my first week back to work. Brett has been at home playing Mr. Mom. I think it has really helped me transition back to the working world. Hate to admit it, but it's nice to be away for awhile...

This past weekend Owen began sleeping in his crib at night. He's been in his own room for 3 weeks, but still in his bassinet. I was very sad about putting the bassinet away. It means he's getting bigger:( But, hopefully it will come with sleeping through the night soon. Then I won't be sad at all!

Owen is also really good with head control and is constantly trying to sit up, so yesterday we got out the bumbo. He loves it!!! For those of you who don't know about the bumbo, it's a great product that uses the baby's body weight to help him sit up. It's nice because you can interact more without having to hold him the whole time and he likes it a lot more than laying down.

Owen went to the doctor today and had 4 shots plus a liquid vaccine. He wasn't happy at all but did very well. Then we went to meet his "teachers". He starts daycare on Monday. Mommy will probably be a wreck. I'll keep you all posted as to how it goes.

Here is Owen making a funny face. His expressions constantly crack us up:)

And finally, for those of you that loved the Penelope video (I'm sure there was someone, right?), you'll love this one of Walli staring at the humidifier. Owen tends to do this too. I guess simple minds find it fascinating. Next I'll get you one of Brett looking at it... J/K honey.

Ahhh...numerical cousin invasion!

thanks cousin Kerri for help with the proper terms...

Tina's cousins (Owen's first cousins, twice removed) came to Chicago to enjoy the unseasonably warm weather last week. Here's a few shots of them hanging with OG himself.

Brett's cousin Patti (the smartest Frost, Owen's first cousin, once removed) also stopped by on Sunday, but we forgot to take a picture (because she made Owen cry...j/k). Patti did bring by some Duke gear, look for future posts with Owen wearing some Duke Blue [number 287 in the Pantone® Color Matching System (http://www.pantone.com/)].
