Boys will be boys

I've decided to start off this week's blog with "Things Owen did this Week."

***********************************************
Things Owen Did this Week:
Began walking more than crawling
Making lots of faces
Laughing after he farts and burps
***********************************************

It's that last one really that makes me so proud... Oh wait, not me, my husband. Brett and Owen laugh hysterically now when Owen does this. Particularly at the dinner table. It is a gross, b0y thing. But sadly I have to admit it is funny to watch the two of them when this occurs.

Nothing too exciting to report this weekend. LOTS of errands and the traffic was so horrible it took forever to get anywhere.

Owen did enjoy using the vacuum to clean up all the food on the floor that he dropped. He's going through a phase where he likes to help put things away and clean them up. I'm going to milk it for all it's worth.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

We are finally getting into the swing of the holidays around here. Although I feel like there is too much to do and not enough time, but I guess that just goes along with this time of year.

The following pictures were part of a photo shoot for a secret project.

Cute BoySilly Boy

Pretty Tree
I know I shouldn't be touching this, but look how cute I am

Owen is very into the dancing penguin. He was hugging it too, but of course he chose not to perform for the camera. But, we did get him to dance. So cute.

Thanks Great Aunt Lu!

Owen received a beautiful birthday gift from his Great Aunt Lulu (my aunt on my mom's side). A beautiful cross-stitch and the cutest birthday card ever.

She's my crafting soul mate and it was so wonderful to get something handmade. I could not get these pictures to insert properly, so I apologize that they are sideways.

Things Owen did this week:
-Began clapping as a reaction to the situation rather than just for fun
-Giving hugs when asked
-Playing peekaboo with his hands
-Feeding himself with a spoon (we still have to load it, but it's a start!)

Meowy Christmas

Ok, so it's not quite Christmas yet, but we were decorating this week and everyone, including Walli got in the spirit. Well, maybe she wasn't quite in the spirit (as you can plainly see from the picture), but we have been putting this scarf on her every year for a picture since we got her. She absolutely hates it and it makes us laugh. Works out great.

It snowed for the first time this season on Sunday night/Monday morning. I was surprise that Owen actually noticed and he kept pointing and laughing. The next weekend that gets snow we'll be sure to get him out there in it.

Our offices are doing a project for the Humane Society and to get in the spirit, we adopted 4 dogs (the agency that is, not us). People volunteered that wanted to help the owners take care of the dogs that come to work with them every day and I'm on team Brody. He's SO cute. It's a nice break from the day to take him out and walk him. Today's activity was chasing a pigeon.

Things Owen is doing this week:
Pointing at things and saying "Dat". He does this both when he wants something or wants to know what something is. He's been doing this for a few weeks now but does it all the time this week. My mom says it's paybacks since I pointed and everything and said "this" incessantly.

Mealtime Madness

Owen is getting very big. Last Sunday we got rid of the bottle and went totally to cups. Didn't really even phase him. Much like the transition to milk. No big deal.
Owen making one of his silly faces we mentioned in the last post...
For your viewing pleasure, following is a taste of mealtime in the Geissler household. Somehow Owen figured out (don't ask me how) that if he stuck a pea in the nozzle of his sippy cup and pushed it, the pea would go flying out of it. Silly little boy.

Visit from Nonni Pat

Nonni Pat came to visit for Thanksgiving and it was lots of fun. She put Owen in his push truck so he could go for a ride. He thought it was great!!!!

Owen thought it was hilarious to pull all of his stuffies out of the bin and play with them. Of course, we thought it was funny too.

Nonni also bought Owen a new chair (early Xmas gift). He just thinks he's so cool sitting in it.
He's making his "grumpy" face. Something new this week.

My friend Allie said something on her blog that got me thinking. I need to track more what Owen is doing each week so that when I have the blog published I will have a nice little memory trail. So plan on seeing this little section each week on the blog.

Things Owen Did this Week
Started imitating faces, namely the one we use when he's in trouble which now just makes us laugh.
Started noticing his body parts such as his legs and belly.
Running with his walker toys.

Again, not too many pics. because this week Owen has given us his cold. In the past month or so I've had a double ear infection, two bad colds, two sets of fever blisters and the stomach flu. And, minus the fever blisters, Owen has had all of this too. Gotta love daycare.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Turkey Day to everyone out there. We are so thankful for our wonderful friends, family and all the great blessings bestowed upon us in the past year.

We are also thankful to all the men and women who have served and are currently serving in our military who make our freedom possible.

May this holiday season bring joy and happiness to your family!
