September Recap

Well, it's hard to tell from the lack of documentation, but September was certainly busy. We finally moved into the house. My mom came to visit and it was time to shop!!!!

We found all kinds of great things for the house. It's a long way from finished but we are off to a good start. You know it's time to stop though when it no longer becomes fun. Which is something I thought I'd never say or experience.

Anyhow, we did manage to squeeze in some fun.

Early September I went to LA for a tv shoot and had fun catching up with my high school friend Charlie and his fiance (now wife, congrats!)

I also went to Chicago for work and got to meet Kristin and Ted's new little one Hadley. She was so sweet:)

The kids just had fun enjoying all of the new space...
Owen and his fishing pole. He thought this all up and made it by himself. I'm so proud of his creativity when it comes to building.

Brett and the kids also had some fun in the rain. But it mostly just freaked them out! Poor city kids.

The house will become a home at some point, right????

August Recap

Well, another crazy month which included moving across the country to Houston, Texas!!!!

But first, we took our annual trip with my Mom to Ocean City, MD which was of course as fun as always.

There is always fun to be had in the sand!

Trying to get Maddi to stand with her name in the sand. The sad pictures are from the first round. The happy pictures were from the second:)

And more water fun in the pool.

Both kids can ride rides at the boardwalk this year and it's so cute to see them together. Owen loves the rides, just like his Gigi.

Ate some yummy corn...

...and at some yummy restaurants. And Uncle Rich came into town to share the fun!

It was such a wonderful trip and a nice getaway before the moving madness began.

Some leftover park pictures from July on our last visit to the park with our good friends Alex and Lois.

Time to pack up the house! So bittersweet. We really got lucky when we found this little house 6 years ago. We will certainly miss Chicago but are excited for our new adventure.

On Saturday, August 11th we began our new adventure. The kids and I flew down while Pat and Brett drove down with the kitties. It was a bit stressful to say the least so I enjoyed some little treats in the temp housing apartment our first night there. Missed that Blue Bell ice cream!

Once everyone arrived we went and checked out our new home!

A HUGE thanks to my Dad and Step-mom for coming to help unpack and deal with the move, to Brett's mom for making the drive down and to my Mom for coming in and helping us shop for the new house:)

The first night we spent in the new house we found a ladybug. They bring me such comfort and are a sign on the blessed mother. The night before I had Maddi, I was very stressed just about wanting a girl and you know, getting ready to have another child. But I saw a ladybug in our house and felt at such peace and knew everything would be okay. And I felt that same way when I saw this ladybug. We are so blessed.

The Nissan was shipped down on a transporter so we had to go to the local Walmart parking lot to meet it. Owen thought this was so cool. It kind of was...

And because buying a house wasn't enough, we bought a new car!!! Actually, our CRV lease was up right before we moved so it was a necessity because now that we are in the burbs, we definitely need two cars. Our new CRV:)

First Day at New School for the Kids

Wow, what a crazy month. But so many exciting times lie ahead.
